As an Illinois native, Jake Kuchenbecker began his work in design and illustration at Columbia College of Chicago where he received a bachelor’s degree in production design for film and television. 

After graduating summa cum laude, he moved to Los Angeles where he was able to enter the film industry working on prestigious projects such as CAPTAIN MARVEL and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3. It wasn’t long before Jake was working as a professional illustrator using 3D modeling, rendering, photo-bashing and digital painting on multiple forms of media from music videos (DOJA CAT, P!NK) and commercials (APPLE, SONY, WALMART) to film (BEING THE RICARDOS, MARVEL) and television shows (SNOWFALL, DOMINO MASTERS, KILLING IT). 

In 2020, Jake was honored at the SDSA Awards for Best Achievement in Decor and Design for his and his team’s work on ABC’s SUPERMARKET SWEEP.

Jake's passion for design extends beyond entertainment, helping creators of all kinds — directors, producers, and designers — bring their visions to life. His expertise has also been instrumental in experiential design projects, providing innovative solutions and immersive environments for events, installations, and interactive experiences.

Jake is currently based in Los Angeles with his puffer fish David and is always accepting new work.
